Project overview

WarmtelinQ is a main underground pipeline that will allow residual heat from the Port of Rotterdam to be used to heat homes and businesses in South Holland. The pipeline runs from Vondelingenplaat in the Port of Rotterdam via Vlaardingen, Schiedam, Midden-Delfland, Delft and Rijswijk to The Hague. Work on the route from Vlaardingen to The Hague began in the spring of 2022. July 2022 also saw the official go-ahead for the extension from Rijswijk to Leiden. WarmtelinQ consists of different (sub)trajectories, each in a different phase. View the status of the various projects below.

Other routes

Several other routes are still under study. For example, the heat can also be used in greenhouses. Therefore, branch lines for Westland and Oostland are being studied. For these route studies, the entire route is being consulted with the municipalities involved, the Department of Public Works, the water boards and local residents. The partial routes will not be final until the permits are granted.
